Today we went to a senior living center and visited with some of the residents. It became increasingly more frustrating because none of us spoke spanish and most of the residents did. However, it wasvery clear that they were grateful the time we spent with them.

Tonight was tamale night, and they were delicious. And now after several MANDATORY games of manhunt I am ready to sleep.

Happy blogging.

Today Dave is a cruel beast and won’t let us keep a poor starving cat that is outside. He says its bird food.

Today we went to the fields at the crack of dawn to pick onions for the food bank. It was amazing how much we picked in the few hours we were there. Three crates full of onions!! It was a blast despite the early rising. We also went to the food bank to sort out foods to be redistributed. If any of the cans were dented badly or seals broken on bags, they were put in a toss pile. The facilities here are very efficient and clean, which really surprised me considering they run on donations only. The dedication of the people working here is also amazing, one can definitely see God’s work taking place.

The site was down from about 17:00 to 21:30 EDT last night. I’m not sure what the problem was — lots of errors were written to the logs, but they weren’t very helpful. However, everything seems to be working this morning. Let’s hope it stays that way.

Recap-
Well everyone seems to be tired and sleepy. We still have a devo to do and some people still need to shower. We will be getting up early to head over to the salvation army.

This is turning out to be a great trip.

I’d like to wish the Faith and Hope youth groups good luck in their trip
to Texas this week. Personally, I’m just glad I don’t have to wake up
early and be at the church at 5:45 in the morning tomorrow! :)
