Well the week is over so I guess ill do dave calls pow wow’s, there just lows and highs. Lows include constantly waking up during the night due to cold ac, working in 100 degree weather, being sore from lifting large amounts of clothing filled trashbags and I had my subscription sunglasses stolen at schlitterban. Highs would include shipleys donuts, our 1 hotel night, schlitterban, and seeing our hard work payoff. There’s no better feeling than seeing the result of a job well done. This trip was great and won’t be forgotten.

Water we waiting for?
Today was a day of fun and play at Schlitterbahn waterpark. It was HOT!!! Today was probably the most sunny, heat-filled day of the trip (in my opinion). It was still quote fun though; I was able to see most of the good rides and was able to laugh and have fun with my new and old friends. I did get a little pink around the shoulders (just so you know mom. Because I know you’ve been wondering) but nothing as bad as Riley’s ruby red back *snicker*. I can not wait for tomorrow, though; I am completely worn down and am ready to get back to my family and my own bed (rather than sleeping bags on the cold hard floor). But all the aches and pains aside this has been an amazing and eye opening experience, just to see and help people of another culture. I am going to miss this place and all of my friends who I’ve grown closer to in the past 9 days, but I know that I’ll see them again and well talk and laugh about our time together (and the inside jokes *Haha* Ooo piece of candy!). Hope to see everyone back at home soon.

Sayonara!
We’ve had a lot of fun and met some interesting people here in Texas. We’re staying at Concordia again tonight (oh joy sleeping bags on concrete again). Tommorow we pack up and we ship out for home. I’ve had a wonderful time and learned a little bit too, about God, about myself, about the other people in the youth group, and about the great state of Texas.

Hey readers, it’s Dana blogging from Schlitterbahn waterpark. We are all are having fun and making tons of memories. This mission trip has definitely been one of the best trips in my book. We all miss our families, but it is going to be a sad departure. We all have bonded and made so many new friends while serving our wonderful Lord. I know in my heart that I, or the people we have helped, will never forget this experience. My eyes, as well as a few others, were opened this week to how some people have to live life and I feel like at times we take the smallest things for granted. Thank you all of those who supported our fundraisers and helping us get here and serve others! -Dana

Me and troy were locked out of the church.

We went to go in the van to go get donuts from shipleys, the best donut place in the world, but there was no more room in the van so we went to go back inside. However the door was locked so troy and I decided to run after the van. Troy went one way and I went the other way.

Troy had not realized I found another way to run after the van. So when he looked back behind him and realized I wasn’t there, he thought I had found another way back into the building. Troy felt stupid and started walking back towards the building while I was still chasing the van. However, he found that the door was still locked. He turned around and saw me walking back because I had not ran fast enough to catch the van.

Then we decided to create a plan. We planed to stand in the middle of the road in the back ally way and stare them down as they went passed. As we were standing there waiting, we heard a really loud, and mean sounding dog behind a fence and we were planning what we would do if it jumped the fence. Fortunately, we did not have to put that plan into action.

When they finally came back at least fifteen to twenty minutes later, we stared them down and as they passed, we could see them all laughing including dave. Then we all got to enjoy shipley donuts.
